Alberta Unintentional Injury Prevention Network

The Alberta Unintentional Injury Prevention Network (AUIPN) was created to provide a forum for individuals and organizations to share and learn about injury prevention-related programs, activities, research and best practice occurring within Alberta and Canada. Membership in the Network is open to all injury prevention stakeholders from government, non-profit or private organizations, community and interested individuals. The network currently has representatives from:

  • Alberta Health Services
  • Injury Prevention Centre
  • RCMP
  • St. John Ambulance
  • Health Canada
  • Alberta Motor Association
  • Safe Community Wood Buffalo

Recognizing that a vast geography, workloads, and financial constraints often provide barriers to working in partnership with injury prevention stakeholders, the Network exists to address these barriers. Co-facilitated by Alberta Health Services, Provincial Injury Prevention and the Injury Prevention Centre, the network provides opportunities for connection and collaboration on a virtual platform three times a year.

Network members are encouraged to promote the Network by sharing information and resources from updates and meetings with their communities and contacts, and also bringing any relevant information of which they are aware from their communities to the Network. Work is currently underway to provide a collaborative online space for network members to use to connect throughout the year. Become a member of the network by subscribing to the Network Communications List below. If you have any questions about the network, contact Patti Stark or Lucy Ernst.
