Alberta Unintentional Injury Prevention Network (AUIPN)

The Alberta Unintentional Injury Prevention Network (AUIPN) was established to provide a vital forum for individuals and organizations to share and learn about injury prevention programs, activities, research, and best practices across Alberta and Canada.

We understand that geographical distances, demanding workloads, and financial constraints can often create barriers to collaboration among injury prevention stakeholders. AUIPN exists to overcome these challenges by offering accessible opportunities for connection and partnership.

Purpose of AUIPN.

AUIPN's primary purposes are to:

  • Connect Alberta Stakeholders: Formalize a provincial injury prevention network to strengthen supportive relationships and facilitate dialogue and collaboration among partners who might not otherwise have the opportunity to interact.
  • Share Knowledge and Experience: Disseminate resources, programming, and funding sources to enhance injury prevention efforts.
  • Collaborate and Build Strategic Partnerships: Support each other in building capacity and strengthening the coordination and integration of injury prevention activities across Alberta.

"Fantastic organization with a tremendous amount of knowledge, expertise, and useful resources."

What we do.

We provide a virtual platform for members to connect and collaborate three times a year. Members are strongly encouraged to promote the Network by sharing information and resources from our updates and meetings within their communities and networks. They also bring relevant information and insights from their communities back to the Network, fostering a dynamic exchange of knowledge.

How AUIPN Operates.

The Network is currently supported by the Injury Prevention Centre and the Alberta Health Services, Provincial Injury Prevention Program. We typically hold meetings three to four times a year. Decisions within the Network are made through a consensus of the membership, ensuring that all voices are heard and valued.

AUIPN membership.

Membership in AUIPN is open to all injury prevention stakeholders, including representatives from government, non-profit or private organizations, community groups, and interested individuals. We encourage members to share their expertise, skills, and resources to help us achieve the Network's purpose.

How to Join

We encourage members to promote the Network and act as a link to other key injury prevention stakeholders in their communities, sharing information from updates and meetings and contributing insights from their local contexts.

If you would like to be part of the Network, email us with an Expression of Interest.
